275/50/15. I know it depends on track prep alot but what's the "norm" to start off at? With my old 17" nittos I would start at 18# and go down. Since this is a softer tire can I go lower?
yep, 11.5-12.5 worked best for me as well. Suspension mods:
4 cylinder springs up front, 90/10 struts up front, no front sway bar
Rear: Bone stock down to the bushings!
1.59 sixty foot on 275-50-15 BFG's almost bald
Carl S.: 417", Yates C3s, Edelbrock 2828, Dominator, Powerglide, 4.10s, 3100 lbs raceweight. 1.27 60' [email protected] nitrous on 275/60 Mickeys in Ultra trim
2014 Ruby Red GT Auto, bone stock for now
To get the most contact area, experiment drive through a small puddle of water and check your foot print to see if the tire looks like its contacting the surface evenley. Its hard to say what your pressure should be it depends on wheel width, sidewall, etc.

i have found that 15 worked best last year in my car. it is over tired and under powered so going any lower actually slowed me down. i also used the 275/50 15 on 10 hole rims, not exactly the best fit but they worked ok. i have always thought it to be better to start high and work you way down. i try to make two runs at the first air pressure, the tires always seem a little stickier after the first pass.
