Braille lightweight battery

I have 2,(39 lb.) Optima red tops in the back of my(street) car.
Thinking of replacing the driver side battery with the largest ? Braille L/W.

What do you think ? 18 lb. is a pretty nice chunk to loose.

I replaced my Optima with a 16 volt Go Lithium battery. It weighs only 8 lbs. I removed the alternator and all associated charging system items. Lost over 50 lbs. It is working very well. 1150 cranking amps, 20 amp hr reserve capacity. A lot more expensive than the battery you are looking at.

The FePo4 batteries are the newest car technology out now. They only weigh 10lbs or so depending on the sizes, but so far most won't work with a typical alternator.

They are current limited to below what most alternators make, but some seem to be coming out that are car sized and say they are usable in place of one battery. Those look to run $500-$700 so far, and none list sizes by proper car type(type 65 for example). Hopefully soon those will become common in needed type sizes, that we can afford for most cars.

I would like to know why the OP was running two batteries in the first place.

Traction limited street car. Then I made the switch from 28x11.50 Hoosier QTP,
to M/T 28X10.50s with tubes. Over 700 miles on the street so far. No issues and grip
is way up. I Put the Braille battery in a week ago,so far so good.
