Slicks for a stick recomendations

I am looking to get a a set of slicks for for my car and wonder what y'all run.
Its a 5spd 4.10 gears and I primarily like to run 1/4 mile.
I currently am running a 275/60 MT radial on a 10" wheel which is close to 28"
Thinking about maybe going with a 26" tire and maybe a 8" wheel?

90 LX Notch 5.0 5spd, bolt on drag car with some giggle gas.
11.71 @ 116mph
86 Gt T-top 5.0 5spd, That one day project.

Play with an Engine rpm calculator and see where you'd be rpm wise when you cross the finish line with the different tire sizes.
Choose the size that better suits your powerband.

26x10 stiff sidewall and 10in rim... That will get the whole contact patch of the slick on the track surface

Slick or drag radial?
Just double checking, not trying to insult intelligence.

Right, sorry, I was just checking if the op wanted a slick, not a drag radial. I should have clarified.

You want a BIAS PLY / stiff sidewall drag slick. Radial slicks bounce back when the radial sidewalls recover from the initial hit. Not that it canít be suspension or clutch tuned to make the radial work, but itís not something for beginners. And Iíve been racing a stick car a long time and I donít even want to take on that challenge!
Drag slicks are noted in the catalogs if they have stiff sidewalls.
Stephen has the right idea on the slicks and wheel.
