First time at the strip

Took my car to the strip for the first time ever. Was mainly looking for 10's potential so was happy for only making 3 passes. Set up is stock block 302, On3 turbo, Astro A5. Leaving on no boost and pedaling 1st gear when boost came on. This was my 3rd pass. Hoping for a 10sec slip this year. I'm on the right side of the slip.

Thanks for the replies, hoping to get that 10 second slip this year. Had the rear shocks at 4 and fronts at 7, Strange single adjustable. Had 20psi in my 275/50/15 ET Street R's. slipped clutch at 4K rpm's and it hooked until the turbo spooled and then had to pedal 1st gear a few times. Have AJE tubular K member kit up front with 12" 170lb coil overs. Team Z Street Beast LCA's and SVE tubular uppers (still need to get the Team Z's).

70mm On3 Chinaman turbo at 10.5psi. Not using a 2 step so leaving on no boost. Not sure of car weight, still has full interior, heat and a radio. Stripped most all of other stuff. Has manual steering rack, tubular front bumper support, tubular K kit, aluminum driveshaft and that type of normal stuff.

Like the others said, you can go 10.5's with that mph. That 4.5 second reaction time is killing you. Not in overt ET, obviously, but the whole process - burnout, pre-stage, stage, leave - has to flow. I'm certain that's affecting your driving. I can't even imagine sitting at the tree for that long - it would completely screw me up. As you get the whole process down, your ET will plummet - I guarantee it. The car's making the power, you just need more seat time in it. Also, keep an eye on the oil pressure. Your car seems pretty light, so you might possibly be in the under 10.5 stock block club, but it seems like for many people, 10.5's are the magical limit of the stock block. When the block starts to crack, oil pressure will drop under load -- even while cruising. Those LCA's are doing nothing for you. If you want bite, you'll need to either relocate your lowers or uppers. I'd go with someone who actually developed (rather than copied) the design. Look into baseline suspension's relocated uppers, or find yourself some old megabite jr's (I did some pretty extensive testing with those - if you search this forum, you can probably find my results - they definitely work).

Either way, there's definitely a lot more left in the car. The fun's just beginning for you. Keep us updated!

What gear are u running? Get a 2 step and some et drags and hold on. You are fighting a losing battle with the radial.

Running a 3:27 gear. Heads are out of the box TFS 170's. It needs a 2 step pretty badly, it falls on its face after launch until builds boost. My MegaSquirt has 2 step capability so may try to configure that over winter months.

Grabbed my first 10 second slip. Still leaving on no boost/no 2 step and dead hooking so car bogs bad. Will hook 2 step up this winter. They had the track prepped incredibly well so holds traction in 1st when turbo spools. Pretty happy for second time at the strip and being 5 speed.

On3 kit works fine. I am using a Precision waste gate and Remflex gaskets to seal flanges. For being a budget kit, it's doing its job just fine.

Hoping to hit the dyno within the next few weeks. Thinking it should make over 500rwhp. I would guess around 530ish rwhp
