Roll Cage Install Gusset question

I have a chromoly roll cage that I am installing and I cannot weld around the main hoop bar all of the way. I saw you can use gussets as long as you weld 75 percent of the bar. My questions is do I have to get chromoly gussets or can I use steel ones. I see that summit sells both not sure what to purchase.

are you talking the tube steel gussets or the stamped steel ones?

Gussetts

I was going to use the triangle ones. I called wolfe and said I could use them or get some tubing and do it that way. My next questions I have the rocker bars mocked up, but how the hell do you weld under them it looks like a nightmare.

Welding cage in

I cannot cut the floor as my outriggers are in the way. I am just going to have to move up a little to weld under. Is there a rule that says they have to be a certain distance from the floor?
