Question 408W - 125 shot

Would a 408W

11:1
Aluminium heads
HR roller .574/.595
1000 DP Carb
Super Victor
1 7/8 LT
3.73

125 HP Powershot Nos

3000 with driver

Could this yield a 9s ET/140mph?

Maybe. What cyl heads? How extensively have they & the intake been ported? Stall convertor? 140mph is a lot..I'd guess it'd take 750hp to do that..?

with the nitrous, yes, doubt 140 though. if you have not purchased yet, I would suggest a 950 over the 1000 carb if you are looking at 4150 style carbs. Although close on rated cfm, the 950 will be easier to tune, already been down that road.

Absolutely. A local racer and forum member TC86GT had an AFR 205 headed 408" that ran mid 10's on motor and deep into the 9s at 140+ on nitrous. That was about 10 years ago. If memory serves correct the motor stayed together for 5-6 years before the block finally split. If you search on here I bet you can find the threads. I am currently building a similar combination.

Stock Block 408", TFS 11R 205, TFS EFI Carb R Intake, XFI 236HR, Tweecer, Faceplated TKO 500
10.49 @ 130mph
