Question Took my '11 GT to the track for the first time...

Looking to get some ideas on how I did. I went in with a 12 in mind, seeing as how they are capable stock and i consider myself to be a decent driver (but still new to the car)

Temps were in the low 80s to mid 70s by night end. The car is a 6 speed, 3.31 gears and absolutely stock except for 275/40/18 Nitto extreme performance nt555 (street radials).

I made 10 passes and was extremely consistent. only one or two runs did i spin on the launch. However these cars are a lot different to launch than my old pushrod 5.0 was with 3.73s and bolt ons.

My best stats for the night:
best 60 2.1000
best mph 111.63
best et 13.0250

And here are the 60/ET/trap for all 10 runs. I'd post the time slip pictures, but it would take some time. I can if needed to better interpret the results.

ETs (AVG: 13.15707)
13.0250
13.0572
13.0635
13.0716
13.0759
13.1265
13.1612
13.2173
13.2395
13.5230

MPH (AVG: 110.803)
110.11
110.19
110.43
110.43
110.76
110.95
111.00
111.17
111.36
111.63

60FT (AVG: 2.18045)
2.1000
2.1086
2.1140
2.1149
2.1239
2.1360
2.1726
2.1912
2.2887
2.4546

Im no expert in interpreting times, but the MPH seemed consistent which leads me to believe that the car gave all it could give and my shifts were good.. everything past the 60'. However the 60 foot times seem like they could be much better.

My main concern is why im running very low 13s with such a high trap speed. Do the numbers seem right for a stock coyote? Very interested to get some feedback on the numbers and what I am capable of with a good launch.

Videos: ((apologies for the shakiness of the video.. had to use my phone in the headrest until i get a go-pro))

Here is an in-car of the 2.1000 60 foot. But not my fastest ET/MPH

111 mph is a 12.6 or quicker ET if you can get the launch down. FWIW, I went 12.78 @ 107 mph in my 08 Bullitt.

Wow, good to hear! Next time i go, ill definitely be bringing a more sticky tire.

Nice time on your Bullitt! What was your 60 foot time on that particular run?

High 1.8 on the 60' with a drag radial. Car has the stock 3.73:1 rear gears so I am sure that helps.

I took my 2011 Brembo car to the track when it was stock except for GT500 mufflers. It even had the stock tires on it which actually aren't bad after you warm them up. The 3.73 gears cause me to shift into 5th before the end of the track so the mph suffers a little. For me the secret to the leave is to get the clutch out and throttle to the floor as quickly and smoothly as you can. It isn't a clutch dump, but a smooth release as the throttle goes down. They should be together and the rpm's should stay consistent. I granny shifted as this car was a driver, not my race vehicle.

Edit: I'm in the right lane on the slip.

Just watched your vids. Looks to me like your burnout is weak. It seems these newer performance radials like to be warmed up. Try it, maybe it will help. I would smoke mine for a few seconds after I could see the smoke in my outside mirror.

Then it sounds like you are hitting the tires too hard on the launch. Your mph is on the money for where it should be stock and the et's line up with the 60'.

bias ply tires work well with a manual trans, and will help you launch at a higher rpm - any of your friends have a set you can try?

I've run a best of 12.095 @ 111.08, with 1.576 60' with my 2005 gt (302rwhp, 3500lbs race weight, suspension, tires, sticky track, crazy negative DA). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRpRfJJnr1s

good luck getting her dialed in!
