If you have invested in nice new LCA's and UCA's, you do not need the quad shocks.

Toss em into the round filing cabinet in the corner of the shop. While your at it, cut the brackets off the rear housing for the clean look.

Lots of people have found out otherwise, so in the unlikely event you DO still get wheelhop, a fresh set of quads (Gabriel 14039's) WILL cure it.

Ah, one of the great debates.

MFE speaks the truth. There are too many variables to say "toss 'em." You might be OK without them, but don't do anything permanent until your 100% sure you don't have issues, and even then there's no way I'd cut off the mounts. Even tire compound changes could mean the difference between hop or not.

You know your probably right I think TomR was able to finally to get rid of his by doing something to his heim joints. I don't know what the heim joint is. So now i'm kinda lost.

With after market control arms and quality shocks (say...Strange 10 way) there should be no reason you would need the quad shocks.

You don't see the faster stangs using their quad shocks do ya?!?!

No guarantee. If the upper bushings in the housing are worn, car will still hop.
I had to pull mine because of wheel back space.

FYR: A heim joint is an end link employing a spherical bearing which allows articulation, but no movement. A bushing, on the other hand, can (will) deform and allow some sideways, longitudinal, and/or vertical motion.

You can lead a horse to water....

At least the OP says he's going to try it before making a decision. However, those spouting 100% "pitch 'em, you don't need 'em" just make me shake my head. Even in the face of evidence to the contrary, they still hold to the misinformation.

The thing that really gets me? Why not just run them regardless (unless wheel/tire combo precludes it)? And the bit about "cut the brackets off the rear housing for the clean look" made me laugh.

Glad I can entertain you...Okay everyone. Put your quad shocks back on your car because this is a DRAG RACING forum. That is if you didn't CUT the brackets off the housing. Just concentrate on how to improve your 2.0 60'. Or maybe try autocross???

Apples/oranges. A street car with a small enough wheel/tire to allow the use of quads,i see no advantage in removing them.

Well I ended up getting Gabriel shocks from AutoZone they were dirt cheap didn't want to chance it. I didn't have any issues with my tire rubbing I run a 315-35-17 nitto's on the street and 275-60-15 M-H racemastes at the track and I've only test fit those I didn't see any issues of rubbing. I'm just trying to get every thing right. I'm going to get a dyno tune for some n2o I'm hopping for 550whp or more. I'm trying to be ready for NWstreet drags in May. so I'm pretty sure I'll have more questions. Thanks guy's

Good call, Cobra69. I'll bet you'll be pretty quick, even *with* the quads.

Looking forward to seeing some results.

Yeah thanks, I hope I can get some good times. I just never ran anything with this kinda power at the track. with the stock engine with all the bolt on's and a 100 shot of the giggle stuff was like 12.89 my 60' was not good and the track was slippery as heck with just nitto's dr I'm hoping with M-H dr will help that out. I go for my tune next week and we are going to bump it up the to 175 shot hop that works for me because I'll be running against a few DSM's awd turbo's damn they are fast off the line I don't know hopefully I can get this thing to hook or maybe I can run them down. Lets just say I thought I knew a lot about mustangs until I found this site and I've been stocking a few guy's on here and have learned a few things. There are a few god's on here that know what their talking about and a few that just like to think they know. The best thing I found on here is Woody that man is a God!! Thanks for all the help.. Jay
