My vote would be a drivers race. Let us know how it ends up?

Unless you are on a slick or DR and the ECO is on street tires, I think the ECO is gonna win easily (assuming equal driver skill).

89 LX hatch, Recycled 347, Canfield 192 heads, Mac 1 3/4 LT, Victor 5.0, CSE cam, AOD, Edge 3800 lockup converter, Lentech VB, 4.10s 255R60-15 MT ET Street Radials 3080 race weight -- 11.13 @ 120.55 MPH (7.05 @ 95.53 MPH 1/8)

My guess is you will get him good off the line but once that little eco engine spools up he will run you down on the big end.

You'd better have some 3:73-4.10 gears,a good clutch, and ET Streets,or slicks & come out guns blazing Me thinks you will(still)need a small Nitrous kit(75-100hp)..and turn it on when hooked up in 2nd,3rd,and 4th gears. Can't he turn the boost up on that car & "put a tune in it"? If so,you definitely need more power...

With stock heads your 91 is pretty close to stock HP still....

1991 Mustang Vert
225hp and 3250 pounds - mid 15's in the 1/4 mile with street tires.
2015 ecoboost
310hp and 3550 pounds - magazine reported 1/4 mile with traction control 14.8

You need some drag redials and a shot of nitrous to win this.

Boost: "I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do it so the little got more and more."

+1

With stock heads you'll have a hell of a time trying to beat your friend.
