Don't know where your area is, but It is fairly popular in Southeast Texas.
5.teens are the norm for some of the front runners.

Let me correct Jay a little here...
It was popular in southeast texas for the last 3-4 years and 5.teens were the norm for the top cars and the averages probably being in the 5.20s-5.30s.

This year they've changed the class up and its not 8.5 anymore, its small tire with the tire options being the 275/60 drag radial or the 28x10.5 slick. They made this change in the middle of last year and I believe the best time is in the 5.0x range so far. Expect 4.90s and better next year from those guys.

The head runners in our area...
Kenny Hubbard
Wayne Long
Mike Butafucco
Kenny Rodriguez is coming around
Luke Wilson ?
and a couple others

I'd like to see a limited class come around like we were trying to do with Evil Street, something that will end up being in the 5.50 range or so. No bars, limits on nitrous/turbos/blowers, etc... But I also like the 28x10.5 because its easier for the average guy to tune on and work with.
