Another 306 in the 10's

I finally got my 10 second pass yesterday. I usually only get out once a year and hadn't run the car since last October where it went [email protected] This year I tried a set of 26x10 stiff wall e.t. drags and raised the rear of the car 1/2". Clutch is still way too aggressive but i'm not going to mess with it at this point. Launching at 7100, shifting at 7200 out the door at 7150.

60' 1.459
330' 4.416
1/8 6.924
mph 97.66
1000' 9.097
1/4 10.933
mph 122.76

Yes it is a hydro roller. It's a stock 93 block, crank, and rods with some 12.2:1 slugs and an anderson n-91 cam stuffed in it. Heads are twisted wedge with some port work. Itake is a vic efi with 90mm t.b. and 80mm maf. 4.56 gears, g-force t-5, strange struts, 50/50's, baseline upper control arms, pro3i lowers. It sees plenty of street time in the summers but It's more of a track built car.

Yes they are stock (unmodified) ford lifters. The heads have stock valves with titanium keepers and retainers. This is the 4th season on the valve sprins so they will be getting replaced this winter for sure. Still no apparent signs of valve float even up past 7200rpm.

I scaled the car a couple of weeks ago when I was debating weather or not to put the tubular k-member/arms/coil overs in and it came out like this.

front = 1610
rear = 1130
without me = 2740
At the track yesterday with me, fuel and helmet = 2970

Thanks! Its an anderson hi rev. I'd love to try something a little less aggressive. As you can hear in the vid it's really pulling the motor down.

Stock block, stock 50oz balance. I've ran this combo for 4 years, so far so good.

I run torco 110 leaded in the car. I'd say I put about 400 miles a summer on the car, it's by no means a daily driver. I'm not sure what you mean by bolt on's? Nothing is really stock at this point other than the interior, power windows & locks, block, crank, rods.

I know it would have and thats killing me right now. I swore the trans wasnt coming out of the car this winter but this clutch thing is driving me nuts! Also have a tubular k, arms, and coil over set up going in this winter. We'll see what happens.

Not the greatest. Had trouble with some insane tire rub at mid/top of the track and I had a big boost leak that I couldn't find till Tuesday. Ended up being the upper to lower intake gasket taking a poop on me.

Yes that is Awesome. Sometimes I wish I would have went with a stout NA combo...

Cheaper than VHT and works great.

Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate everyones great words!

I was wondering who posted the responce on youtube I've been pondering who it could have been for the past few weeks.

It's been a 4 year road to get 5 tenths out of this combo. First time out with basically the same motor (header change is only difference) and rear end netted an [email protected] back in 2004. If I had a penny for every time friends have given me s**t for playing with suspension and making stupid little changes to the car I would be a rich man. Stick with you're projects guys!

Yeah it was a great combo for a somewhat mild lifted camshaft. In my opinion it's much easier & cheaper to run a carb but it looks like you dialed your car in well... You really turn some rpm's I shift mine @ 6,500 & go through the end @ 6,600. My tried & true My 306 was built over 10 years ago but I blew a head gasket last month so bad that it damaged the head & block.What I think happened is I may have put too much timing in it & it went lean.It was too bad cause the bottom end didn't look that bad once disassembled. I'm building a 331 now with 11.4 comp & I just bought another pair of Hi port heads. I may use my old camshaft, but I would probably benefit from one with more lift. What do you have for springs? when you click on my link (on that same page) you'll see a couple more video's on the right side of the page...

Naturally Aspirated 331 + TKO 5-speed = 9.80 @ 138.9
