I agree, a 28" tire would probably work better. They hook better than a 26", you will more than likely be able to leave harder, and they will keep your RPM's down on the top end.
edit: Actualy, with the 3.31 rear gears, you might be better off with the 26"s. Your top mph @6000rpms with the 28" tires would be around 150mph, where as with the 26" tire, it would be around 140. Either one would work, but the more mechanical advantage, the better in most cases.
