hard to see pic but its the best i could find, i have since gotten rid of my weldon because it was a PITA on the street even with the dial-a-flow controller.
to answer questions....
YES, you can mount it in any position including above the pickup. BUT in my case it was a headache to get to prime with a full tank, let alone anything less. you can see that the pump was mounted at about the half way point of my fuel safe cell (22 gal). it would not prime to full pressure during the 2 second prime setting when turning the key to the "ON" position. So I have to prime the pump at least 3 times before every start. another PITA with this pump is that is doesnt have any drainback prevention device (check valve) so as soon as you shut the car off all the fuel drains back to the tank and goes to zero pressure. again, causing the priming to be a pain.
I had both pre and post filter on it, running a -12 feed from the stock location pickup to the pump and -8 to the rails.
I mounted it by some 1/8" steel I bent in an "L" shape and moutned it to the rear bumper support and put rubber isolators between the pump and the bracket to help hinder sound. even with the controller it would be loud enough to hear over the 3" dumped exhaust.
I could see that some love this pump because its capable of flowing a ton but for me, driving on the street, I had to get rid of it. BTW, on the street with the controller all the way down the fuel would still heat way up.
Ive since switched to dual pierburg pumps and will never look back
