How to run 7.0 N/A 302

Wanting to run a flat 7.0 on a 5-speed 302 w/ TFSTW 2.02.... What do I need to do to see it?

Current setup is a 302 TFS pistons, TFSTW 2.02 heads, 93 Cobra upper and lower, 24 lb injectors, long tubes, back by T5 and 3.27 gears.

EDIT: Can a stock block hold a 200 shot for long?

What are you running now N/A? I would say you are probably going to need a lot of gear, lot of weight reduction, a lot of cam, lot of compression. I would also put a different upper and lower intake on it. Either Holley Systemax II or Edelbrock RPM II.

With the parts you are wanting to use it will be difficult, you will need a lot of RPM and gear with those heads and intake.

Purestock's car has taken a long time to get sorted out tho. he has a perfectly matched combo.

I have run 7.3's in a hatch at 3300lbs race weight. I had 4.10's, AFR 185's, XE282HR w/1.7's degree'd +4 degrees, Victor 5.0 with 75mm tb. 30 lb inj, 90mm LMAF, Powerpipe, L/T, with 22" of pipe with race bullets.

Suspension wise it had coil overs up front and in the rear with 90/10's and 50/50's I ran consistent 7.3's.

Coming out of the hole at 6500 I would pull 1.63 60's an run 7.3 at around 96mph

93 GT- Traded
97 F150-PI swapped.

My NA 306 is good for 7.18 @ 94.75 in the 1/8 with the factory cobra intake at 3100 lbs on pump gas. If you want to see high 6s in the 1/8 with a gt-40 based NA 308, do a search for speedy431 on this board.

My 60 ft is generally 1.52-1.54 if the track is decent.

I've noticed when i was in tech school in NC running all the local 1/8 mile tracks my 60's would range from 1.57-1.65's depending on the tracks but the et and mph would stay about the same. the difference i noticed at the most was .1 slower et an .4 mph. Thiw was done with a bottle fed 306

Also just for comparison, I took off my holley intake and switched over to a ported cobra intake and I lost a solid tenth and 2 mph. The cobra felt stronger on the low end, but slowed down on the top. You are running almost 95 mph with your cobra, wonder why mine slowed down?

Nutzz, I'm assuming that e.t. and mph was with your 331? you switched from efi to a carb and gained 6 mph. Thats awesome, Do you think your efi was to small for your motor? How much e.t. did you gain? Sorry for all the questions, I've been thinking of going to a carb set up. All the locals tell me that it would probally slow me down because my car runs to good on the efi.

Yea sorry 302/331 same to me lol. Yea i make alot more hp with the carb setup would never swap back to be honest. EFI just takes to much tuning to get air fuel ratio and rev limiter etc out of the way. With carb i went 6 mph faster and went almost a sec faster in et in 1/4 mile.
