what differences are you seeing between 26" and 28" inch tires

I'm seeing a big difference between my e.t. and mph in the 1/8th mile... i'm going from 99.8 mph with the 26x10 to 95.8 mph on 28x10.5.

My main question is...

Is this about normal? or is something wrong with my car(engine wise)?

depends on your set up

if you went from 26 to 28 without moving up in gear size, it makes sense it could slow a bit.....basically that taller tire is like gearing down.

Makes sense to me. Running those times a 26x10 should be more than enough tire, if it won't hook then you need to address that issue without adding more tire.

New times coming soon.....

With your automatic, the 26X10 tire should be more than enough tire. Why did you change tire height? Running out of gear?

The reason i have been trying some taller tires is that they are finally building a 1/4 track in charlotte, NC, so kinda preparing for that i have been playing with some taller tires. I'm gonna put the slicks on for friday and run it, that way i can see if it is the difference

What are the times? I just ran my car with a set of 28's but I do have a set of 26's. Wondering if I'd be faster with the 26's?

The best tire is the one that will give you a gear ratio for a slight over rev going through the traps . Most times you will hurt the gear ratio when switching to taller tires , if you need the traction a taller tire will lay down a larger foot print there for you will get better traction , But this larger tire takes more power to turn . You can have both tires geared the same and go slower with the larger tire because it eats more power ,the best tire is the smallest tire that will hook your car.
