Going to ISLAND DRAGWAY this Sunday for a little Test 'n Tune

If anyone is interested in going to Island Dragway this Sunday, hit me back... it would be nice meeting up with other members at the track.

I am trying to figure out what this cause of my poor 60' times are and I need to record the launches. I can probably ask someone from the stands to record my runs, but it would also be nice to hang with other people as well.

I am planning on arriving at around noon and making a bunch of passes, probably leaving close to 5pm. The weather is supposed to be real nice, sunny and high of 80.

email me if interested: [email protected]

A good vid angle is from the rear at a 45* angle so we can see the rear and the side of the car at the same time. We will need to see how the frontend and the rearend reacts at the same time. Fill the entire screen with the car so we can see the wrinkles in the tires, etc. No need to show the xmas tree or anything else just the car.
Also, put a white stripe on the rear tires so we can see when the tires start to spin and it may be a good idea to put it on both rear tires just in case the filming is done from both sides of the car.

Good Luck!

Thanks Kevin, I will try to shoot exactly as you say.

Is anyone else interested in joining me for a little fun? I believe I have one other person joining me from here, maybe two.

I will be there tomorrow, I can't make it on Sunday. I am going to an autocross on Sunday but I need to make a few test passes for the following weekend when I race at Atco.

Yeah I hope the rain stays away long enough to get a couple passes in. I want to have my car tuned a little bit before Atco the next weekend.

I know this thread is old but I'll be at Island Saturday. They now have time Test/Tune on Saturday with a $20 gambler's race.

Long travel from Long Island. Too bad they closed down the 1/4 mile drag strip by the Hamptons. Used to go there when I lived in Queens. You familar with Mikes Mustangs by Mustang Magic in Deer Park?

I've heard of them, never went there though. I went to Mustang magic a long time ago. I wish they still had a track on the island it would make testing so much easier.

You going to Shakedown October 4th?

Mike's shop closed down and is now parts manager for Mustang Magic. I used to go there too only for test and tune days as I just jump on LI expressway and head down towards the hamptons.

Will check schedule on Oct.4th. Your running or watching?

I'm just watching...I wish I was running that would mean I would have at least an 8.50 car since that will be the slowest class racing.
