First time to the track... Somewhat impressed

First night out.... Best of the 6 runs was
R/T - .6378
60 ft - 2.0450
330ft - 5.9982
594ft - 8.6543
ET - 9.2382
MPH - 77.06

I know the reaction time is completely retarded, but it was my first time out and I don't really care... I just wanted to see what the car was capable of.. I'm having a lot of traction issues.... Had to pretty much leave at idle speed and roll a bit before getting into it and still spun a bit. Everyone seems to think I'd be in the 8s range with some decent tires... I'm running 245/45/17 Sumitomos right now.... Anyone have any tips for getting them to bite a little more. I did try a short burnout, just enough for me to see smoke.

Get some stickier tires. The sumitomos don't work well at the strip, atleast mine didn't. You may also want to look into gettin some quality upper and lower control arms to get that 60' down.

Hope this helps

Yeah, I assumed that much... Judging from the slip do you guys think there's an 8 in it with some tires?

no doubt... with a set of slicks you should be able to cut a 1.8 60'... i'd hope so anyway. .2 off the 60' should get you into the 8's. just my .02
