NHRA lap belt rules?

Hey All:

Was wondering if someone could help me out with some NHRA seat belt rules.

I'm being told that I don't have to run anything better than the OEM lap belt in my 66 Fairlane until I go the speed requiring a roll bar.

Is this true? Kind of scary to think about, and I don't think I'd try it. I'm mostly curious to see what the actual rule is.

Thanks for any help

Yup, I believe its 11.49 or 120mph. (not sure on the mph)

Its all I ran when I ran mid 12's, I finally got my 5 point in now.
