Greg, I am surprised tha DR's are only worth 5/10's on a car like that.
I'm not suprised Brian- think about it- I'm starting from 1.8x, that's pretty good for a street tire actually. I see guys struggle to get out of the 1.8's on nittos.
If I was seeing the typical "stock tire
" 2.0's and running 12-flat, I'd expect to pick up more than that. It's a matter of perspective.
Don't mean to be breaking my arm patting myself on the back here, but look at the the thread title.
Last night I ran a few times while working a big event (Between rounds we do prep and allow time runs) and some of my co-workers were busting my chops about how "slow" I was shifting. I told one of 'em I'd bet him $100 that he couldn't get that car to launch better than 2.0 or even make a "clean" pass without going towards the wall with that kind of power and those tires. He wouldn't take the bet. So for demonstration purposes, I only did a mild "speed shift" into 2nd and didn't pedal it like I usually do and it hazed the tires all the way thru 2nd and went 12.40...
Look at those "poker chips" on there, does that look like a 12-flat setup? It looks like another "slow" 94-95 car.
Yes, those are the stock springs.
Suffice to say it surprises a lot of people who don't know the car.
