What else do i need than my license to keep running in the 9's?? Gear for me to wear and what needs to be done on the car? Have the 10 point cage and window net,just want to know what else??Thanks,Randy

You have to have a full suit, pants, jacket and shoes. Jacket and pants have to be multilayer, I think its 3-2a/5 SFI cert. or better. You also have to have a 'chute, neck collar, along with SFI approved everything. Ohh, and you have to have your cage certified.
Yeah, be prepared to spend some $$$ on all the extra stuff. I told my wife that next year I'm going to have to invest in all that stuff:
new pants and jacket (my current is single layer rci)
license and physical
SFI bell housing and tranny shield
10 point cage will need to be added on to my 6 point
parachute for 135 plus mph?

the discussion about the chute was brought up in a thread here recently. it's needed for 150mph+.
Correct if you are running 10.99-10.00 once you go faster than 9.99 (mph does not matter) you are required to have a chute on the car just dont have to use it.
Also another item not mentioned is an oil retention device. Right now NHRA only enforces that rules on the Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, basically any of their classes running faster than 9.99. It is not mandatory for any car but there are MANY tracks across the nation that are enforcing the rule. I would check with your local facility to see if it is needed. Personally I would get one anyway, they are very nice especially if the motor gives at 140mph.
