Upgrading from stock premium sound 91 L

I’m going to be upgrading the radio in my car. I plan to run a single din head unit with flip out screen. Beside from upgrading the old speakers. Would I need to run a new amp? Or just disconnect the old enhancer below the current radio and hope for the best with new unit?
