reverse problem

its not a lightning but it is a 5.8 f150 with a vortech on it. its a 95 and i would say 3 out of 5 times i throw it into reverse it will bogg down and die. not even sure were to start hunting problems on this one. was wondering if anyone could help? thanks...

I have had this happen on a couple of my trucks with E4OD trans. Often the trans filter drops down far enough to almost come out of the valve body and causes air to be sucked in. The fix from a long time ago was to stack magnets in the pan to hold the filter in place. I think some of the filters have been re-designed to not be a problem now. Check your transmission, not the engine.
