Thats good info. I've never heard of that happening b4. If you didn't find any metal shavings, I would think that the needles that you couldn't find are still in tact and will be ok to leave them as they should make their way to the oil pan and remain there. Of course, all future oil changes should be carefully scrutinized for shavings as well.
