will an F303 cam work in these engines

Ok before you read answer. I am getting an Hblock, and I was wondering if an F303 will clear in a 351? I plan on using the roller rocker conversion from my 302 and some ford pushrods. But I want to know if I will have piston to valve issues. Also as far as heads will 2.02 vavled heads clear the pistons on a lightning/roller truck 351?
thanks

Our pistons kind of have a dish to them, so there's a lot of clearance. Were you planning on putting this engine in a Lightning? - Brian

No thisi baby will see a mustangs underhood! So there is a nice dish huh? So what kind of compression do these have? Im curious because I will have a turbo giving some boost to that short block untill I get around to a 393 stroker.
So you think a F303 will work with a 2.02 valve?

I have an E-303 cam w/1.7 rockers in mine with no clearance issue at all.

FWIW, I've heard from a couple of people that have run the F-cam with forced induction (Supercharger or Turbo) and they seemed to be somewhat disappointed with the results!

Hi,

Lidio at Alternative Auto ran an F cam in the Lightning shortblock he had in his 88 Mustang, with TFS TW heads. Not sure if he had to notch the pistons or not, but the car made good power (went 9.80s' at 140). You might wanna give him a call and see what his experience was.

Hope this helps,
Jim
