Harsh shifting lightning - need help!

My lightning shifts real hard at only part throttle about once every day or two. When it happens, it usually does it for a couple of shifts and then it is fine again. It has been doing this for the last 30-40k miles or so and has 125k total. Any ideas?????

couple things it might be, first there is a solenoid inside the trans that controls line pressure and sometimes it sticks and can cause this. also it could be a bad connection at the EEC computer

before diving into the transmission the first thing to try is to disconnect the computer and then reconnect it, trying to get a better connection. sometimes over time the terminals get some corrosion on them and unpluging and then plugging it back in sometimes cleans the connections and fixes the problem. this seemed to work on my truck as it was doing the exact same thing

anyways inside the engine compartment on the firewall almost directly below the master cylinder you will see the computer. there are 2 actually, one is the wiring connector for the transmission? and the other is the computer. its been awhile since i looked but i think the EEC is on the right (closest to drivers side fender)

simply unbolt the bolt in the center and pull the connector off then reinstall. i didnt even pull mine completely off, just back it out about 1/2" and then put it back in

i went ahead and did both connectors, the EEC and the other one (trans?) took about 5 minutes total

if it still does it after doing this id almost bet its that solenoid. i think its like a $30 part and fairly easy to replace as you dont have to go inside the trans but havent done it for sure

rl on this board i believe changed his, maybe do a search for his name here in this forum
