2500 stall with f303

Does anyone know if a 2500 stall would work well with the f303 in the 94 lighting. It's mass air converted .

I'd want more stall before I put that cam in a heavy truck.

I don't know the answer to OPs question.

What I do know is that a 1st gen Ford Lightning weighs roughly 4100 lbs. A modern Mustang weighs about 3800 lbs with the heaviest Mustang curb weight being over 4000 lbs. So think about stall speed like you would a modern car...it ain't a 3100 lb Fox Body.

I had a 1800 rpm stall in my 4600 lb truck with a 306, Edelbrock Performer intake, Powermax 2020 cam, and AFR 165s...1800 wasn't enough and the truck was sluggish off the line since the power band was shifted upward. The truck really came to life once I hit 3500+ up to 6000 RPM though.

Pretty sure I've read that stall speed should be about 500rpm under your peak torque.

With my combination, I would have said a 2800 rpm stall would have been ideal. Maybe even a 3k.

I think the major thing about that rate like you would have in today's car...it ain't a 3100 lb Fox Body system.
