I did the 4.9 to 5.8 swap, it was pretty much strait forward. Had to get brackets for the cross member that the v8 bolts to, then to get the engine to run with EFI, i went and got an untouched 96, complete engine and under hood harness and computer, plugged it all up. I read somewhere 96 was the only year they had the Crank Position Sensors so since my truck/computer is a 96 i tried to keep it all. It wasnt hard to find at a salvage yard. I kept the stock 5 speed from the 4.9 and had it rebuilt, its done fine so far. Only having issues with the distributor but i think i might have that fixed soon.
