94 Lightning & 95 F150 5.8l

I did some google searching around, not any real answers that I am looking for. To make things short and sweet, just picked up a 94 Lightning. It has some abuse to it, poor truck. I think the crank may be bent. I changed out the harmonic balancer but still wobbles a lot, may have been doing this for too long prior and damaged the crank. I have a low mileage donor 95 f150 351w with a stock roller setup on the stock short block. I need to get this truck back up and running ASAP, need it for some hauling. Does anyone here see any issue with moving the heads and Intake over to this short block from the lightning? Also going to keep the rods, rockers, and lifters from the donor. Thanks for the help.

Nope. No problem. The roller cam is probably better than the flat tappet the Lightning came with anyway. If you're feeling froggy swap a 5.0 Mustang HO cam in there (advanced 4*) with some 1.7 roller rockers. Other than the cam the shortblock is all the same. You'll need to use the pushrods from the roller motor, the Lightning ones will be too long.

Thanks for the quick reply, interested to see wtf happened to this lightning crank. Have you ever heard of this before? I have seen forums where it is possible for the balanced to throw the crank off. It only leaks fluid while driving, from the timing cover seal. But you can see that there is way to much wobble still.

If you do use the regular f150 roller shortblock...use the distributor that was in that block, as the roller and flat tappet camshafts use different distributor cam gears. So dont mix your distributors up during the swap. Lol
