Question Are the FPR's prone to going bad in Lightnings?

I believe my fuel regulator is shot in my 94 Lightning. You have to turn the key and let the pump cycle before starting it up when it is warm. I remember hearing somewhere that were prone to going bad. Can anyone confirm this, or has had any problems? Thanks.

They are prone to going bad. There was a recall but it was only for the 93's even though it could affect others.

Unfortunately, I've heard many that go bad. And there is a recall on '93s, had mine done. But, now's a good time to go to an adjustable aftermarket FPR.

There was a problem with the cheap metal spring used in the 93 and earlier FPR. They were prone to breaking and causing your fuel pressure to go through the roof. When mine broke, it pegged both pumps past 100 psi (all my gauge would read).

The reason that the 94 and 95 is not in the recall, is that they use a different FPR. The 93 uses the 3-bolt design, while the 94/95 uses a 2-bolt.

like the fox bodies and the 94-95 are 2 bolt same
as sn95 must..........
