What tire size when running second gen wheels?

As the title says...what tire size would fit best and not cause any speedometer\shifting\rubbing issues?

wheels are 99 lightning 18x9.5's
truck is 95 lightning with stock ride height

....and yes i already know about the bolt pattern...already solved...just need tires

Wasn't sure if the stock 295-45-18 tires that came on the new body lightnings would work..thoughts?

I think I'm running the 295's with no issues except for slight binding on on the fronts on real tight turns. I'll check later on to be 100% sure though. The speedo doesn't matter as the pickup is off the ring gear in Gen 1 Lightnings...

No, no, no. The speedo is unaffected by gear changes, tire diameter changes need to be accounted for. I believe stock Gen 2 tires are shorter. Search PSOM on www.nloc.net you need to find the constant for the tire diameter and program the PSOM with it.

Whoops, you are right, dunno what I was thinking when I posted that. But there is no way to correct the speedo in the PCM.... Anyway, my speed with those tires is still spot on - checked with a GPS....
