97 f150 odometer doesnt work after clutch replacement

i work for tires plus and i recently replaced a clutch in a 1997 4.2 f150 and now the odometer doesnt work. the speedometer works and all other gauges do also. i didnt think to check if it worked before i did the job and im not sure if the customer is trying to pull a fast one and get something for nothing by claiming that it worked before. i cant think of anything that would make the odometer not work from a clutch job. i know this is the 93-95 lightening forum but i need some help here and i dont want to have to join yet another forum for a 1 time question. any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
