Go to Paul over at the NLOC. http://www.nloc.net/vbforum/members/thepunisher.html

He is a tech for Ford. He will save you money and knows all the updated parts to use.

i would NOT put an aod in a lightning regardless of the power that it is built to handle granted that those trannys are decent in mustangs, mustangs are a hell of a lot lighter than a lightning and they wont hold up that long to the torque that it takes to move the heavier vehicle, i'm sure if you go over to the NLOC and ask people over there of even Paul he and they will tell the same

ILL 2nd that. E40ds are twice the trans the best built AOD is with the upgrades.

BTS also builds some good ones too.

I have done quite a few myself and they arnt impossible.

at your HP level a stock setup with upgraded clutch packs and a good shift kit, quality convertor and a cooler and you should be trouble-free.
