Lightning wanna be new look..(little ='s allot)

Got bored the other day, when washing the truck, wanted to check out paint under chrome fender trim. Well got it off and, MAN, like the look allot better..

Paint wasnt in bad shape, so I polished that area up and applied little wax..

Know its not a true lightning, but is my version of a lightning clone.. More pics in Sig,,

BEFORE... with chrome fender trim.....

After trim removal.....

teaser pics of the new 351--- getting close to install,, waiting to get headers jet-hot coated, intake powder coated,, and few little other things.

Cool. Another major improvement is painting the windshield trim satin black. I did that, the mirrors, and door handles on my former F350... was quick and made a fantastic visual improvement.

beautiful truck you have Mike. I always liked that dark green color. I've got a 92 F-150 Custom 2wd shortbox regular cab I did the same thing to. I got the gen 1 rims on it, Cervini's front air dam, and just 2'' drop shackles in the back right now to level it, but I have a set of original Gen 1 front coils that will be going in this spring to drop the front an inch. Mine was a Custom, first and last year in that body style (like an XL but has a headliner and a few other things an XL doesnt have) so I didnt have the stainless around the wheelwells or the mouldings around my body.

I added all the chrome on mine that it has, but someday I may take my nice original gray bumpers and stock gray grille/headlight trim and have them sprayed regatta blue, but my whole truck is faded and I really want to have the whole outside of my truck resprayed someday. It looks nice after I hand polish and then wax it, but 1 bit of rain and it goes back to looking dull- that was Fords cheap quality single stage late 80's early 90's paint. But my Dad and I hate salt so never drove it winters, there isnt a spec of rust on it anywhere.

Do you have your truck lowered in the front? Looks it. If it is, how is it lowered? Thanks

I'll try to post some pics of mine on here.

when my Dad bought it new for my Mom in 1992 (I remember going to the dealer with my Mom and getting it)

when I got it around 2001 (before I had the hood resprayed)

March 2008 after I got it out of winter storage to put the shackles in it and bought the rims from a guy in NC

after I got my diamond style headlights in Summer 2008

Theres probably quite a few still on the roads in Georgia, but there arent many of these trucks left in Upstate NY. Mine is about the only one that I know of around where I live that isnt rotted out. Wish it was a V8 like yours though. Mines stone cold reliable but no hot rod. That 351W is going in your truck? That is going to be sick.

Not sure if you know or not but the beltline moulding is on there just with double sided tape or glue so they would probably come off but I dont know if i would try it personally because of the risk of paint being pulled. Anyways, your truck looks great either way.
