So not sure what I did exactly and need to help on where to start looking for a fix.
Accelerating full throttle in second gear going into the interstate, about to shift at about 5-5500 rpm, car all of a sudden cuts out. I let off and shift into 5th and car seems to be running normally. Driving back to house I tried to downshift to 4th and open up the throttle and it seems fine until maybe 3500-4K then it starts to break up and cut out. Off interstate and on regular roads no strange noises, accelerating away from a stop light I get up to 25-30 and push the gas a bit too much, loud backfire/pop and car dies in neutral. Pop the clutch and it starts back up, keep limping it home and it’s letting me use progressively less throttle and lower rpms , about 8 blocks from home it dies and won’t restart popping the clutch so I roll it into a parking lot. Kinda acted like it wanted to turn over and start a few times but then nothing. Right before it died at lower rpm’s it was starting to develop a light misfire. This is all over a 10-15 min drive
No catastrophic sounding noises like the inside of the engine let go when I was driving it back, no trails of oil, oil and coolant temp normal, no knocking that I could hear from in the car with windows down.
Car is a 94, stock bottom end 5.0, stock heads/cam but all the bolt ons.
Towed back home, now I need to know where to even start looking to figure this out
