Post your GT40 setups here

I have been looking for a thread like this and I may have missed it so let me know if I did. But, it would be sweet if everyone posted their GT40 combos. Please post your full mod list (head specs, cam, intake, any/all port work, timing, exhaust) race weight, track times, and dyno numbers!!! I'm gonna be doing a budget build GT40 setup aiming for 11's once my Terminator sells so I'm anxious to see different setups!!!

Mine with mild pocket work, performer, 24's, comp magnum 270, LT's and normal bolt-ons with T5 and 3.73's dynoed 274/308 and ran [email protected] with average 2.0 60'.

Edit: I forgot that I dynoed with 19's and a 70mm 94 GT MAF, it was pig rich at 10.4 AFR thru the range and it idled and ran like it. I put in the 24's and used a C&L to match and the car ran much nicer and pulled harder. My coupe now uses a TFS1, systemax, a stock set of performers, shorties, 3.55 gears and with everything else being equal ran a 1/2 second faster with same 60' on the first weekend out, and 3mph faster to boot.
This is my 6th fox and the last 5 had iron head combo's, never again.

Nice!! Those are good numbers. The Comp 270 seems to be pretty popular I'll have to look into it.

Here's the combo in my '92 LX:

stock 78k mile shortblock
GT40 heads (TFS .550 valve springs)
Crane 2031 cam (.513/.529 lift, 214/220 dur, 112 lsa)
Crane 1.7 rockers
TFS 6.3" pushrods
Explorer Intake
70 mm TB
24 lb injectors
Pro-M 77 MAF
AFM Inlet Pipe
BBK longtubes, BBK catted H-pipe, 2.5" Dynomax Ultraflo catback
Tuned with an SCT chip

Car put down 262 rwhp / 303 rwtq SAE corrected though the stock T5. I'm extremely happy with this setup. I don't race this car. It has 3.27 gears, ice cold A/C (Hose Wizard R134 A/C kit), hot heat, handling suspension, and big brakes. It's strictly a weekend street cruiser with the occasional car show and car get together. The car has great low end power, stock driveability, and nice cam lope at idle. Even passes the sniffer here in TX for state inspection. More power could be had with a bigger cam but that was not the top priority. I do wish that I would have had Tmoss port my lower intake though as that would have made a little more power for not much money.

3 bar GT40 heads with 5 angle valves and TFS spring kit, 1.6 rockers. 1 5/8 shortie headers, 2 1/2 OR H pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters. Timing at 12. 90k mile stock bottom end. Rest is in sig. i get compliments all the time about how it sounds. 1/4 mile times arent the best but i'm sure a bit more practice and more traction would help a lot.

93 LX hatch, full exhaust, 3.55s , GT40 heads, TMOSS lower, Fox Lake cut/ported upper, TFS Stg 1 cam, 70mm TB, 73mm MAF, 19lb injectors.

I've not dyno'd mine yet, nor gotten any useful track data haha. I was still in the process of tuning the last time I ran ([email protected] w/a 2.05 60' lol), and had a ton of boost leaks as well.

Combo is:
Stock block, 306ci
GT-40P heads, converted to stud mount rockers
Comp Cams 1.6 Roller rocks
FRPP X303 cam (286/286 duration, .542" lift)
Stock intake/tb
Twin t3/t4 50 trim turbo setup, custom 3" true dual exhaust
Megasquirt II EMS
C4 transmission, 3.55 gear, 3000 stall converter

Never got a chance to get it back to the track after I fixed a bunch of issues, but it's scary.

Old combo was the stock 86 block, around 150k or so miles. Threw on some E7's and an explorer intake.Jba shorties and catback. Dynoed 224/294 running lean. This was with the stock 58mm TB also. Best Et was [email protected] with 3.55's and a 4 banger T5(which still works ) .
Since then Put together another motor. Longblock from a 94, ported the exhaust side of the E7's, upgraded the springs so I could use the TFS1 cam that I had laying around for over a year. Dynoed 252/311, 13:1 af. Other than that added 65mm TB, converted to MAF.and added long tubes. Best run on lowered suspension, swaybar still attached, and full interior was [email protected]??mph. I only went once since that combo. Have issues with oil usage, and didn't want to push my luck with the 4 cyl t5.

How much timing is everyone running on their GT40P combos? I know it will vary car to car but since the GT40p have fast burn chambers does more timing make a difference?

Was that through an auto? Seems low? My 88 GT put down 240 rwhp SAE (not BS STD or "actual" numbers) on a dynojet 248c with E7's, 93 Cobra Cam (smaller than stock HO), Cobra 1.7 Rockers, Explorer Intake, Hooker Shortys, BBK Offroad H Pipe, Flowmaster Catback, Electric Fan, Pro M 75mm Bullet, A9L, stock pullies, stock throttle body, 17 degrees of timing. Shortblock was a stocker of some sort, that used to have nitrous on it.

Shortblock was a stocker of some sort, that used to have nitrous on it.
No, through a T5. It still has the stock 55mm MAF and stock fuel system. I'm attributing the low numbers to that, since the air:fuel ratio was right at 14:1 during the dyno pulls. Stoichiometric is 14.7:1, so that'll give you an idea of how much I need to enrichen the fuel mixture.
