Drag racing wheels and tires for 500whp '07

Car: '07 Shelby GT, 12psi supercharged, cams, headers, exhaust. Likes to spin 20" street tires at the dragstrip despite my most grandmotherly launching. It is killing my e.t.'s.. most 60's are currently 2.15-2.35. I know it has a 1.5x in it from previous owner, who got several 1.6x's also (on slicks).

Solution: Get some dedicated drag racing wheels and tires. I want to be able to swap wheels in my garage, and drive to strip 30 minutes away.

Problem: I'm clueless and I've searched. I'll be able to figure out tires since there are more threads on those. Looking for some help here.

Questions:

  • What size (diameter) wheels should I be seeking? Smallest that will clear my brakes so that I can put meatier tires on?
  • How much of an additional benefit is there to getting front wheels and tires for racing versus rears only? (Front's would be my 20" street tires)
  • Weight has got to be important. Anyone got a recommendation for an economical light weight wheel for my purpose?

Thanks in advance!

Only thing I can tell you, my brother has a 13 Boss 302, and a buddy of ours has a 10 Shelby. Both have the same rear brakes, and I know you can fit a 15" on the back of the Boss, so I would assume its prob. the same for the Shelby. Prob. a 15x10 with 7.5 bs.
