Question What Brand 165/80/15 Tires and Where to buy for my front skinnies?

Hi guys, I hope this is properly placed as I assume i'm not the only one trying to find a decent tire for their front skinnies. It's not exactly a tech question but i'm sure will be looked up in the future by others. I had planned on buying Kumho's but they are discontinued and over priced with shipping everywhere that still claims to have them. The Nankang CX-668 are the most hideous tires i've seen and I will not be buying those. I would appreciate any help you guys could give me on locating something decent. I'm astonished at how expensive these tires are since the last time i've bought them. they used to be like 25 bucks a piece, now they are upwards of $70 ea... I'm looking to spend a reasonable amount for decent tires. I'm looking for radials by the way. These will be on the front of my Weld Forged RTS 15x3.95 Thanks in advance... - billy

OUCH! I know I can't get them locally either. You could always bite the bullet and get some nice (read HIGH dollar!) ones from summit or jegs.

If you go down one size to 155/80R15, you can go for a pair of BFG Radial T/As.

I had Kumho's and Nexens on my car over the years. Seem to drive the same with both. With bias plys on back you get the feeling of driving a bath tub full of water down the road.. lol

I'm going to check a place locally tomorrow and see what I come up with. I'll post back with whatever I find.

Go with the MT Sportmans or similar. I've driven a lot on the cheap skinnys and they just aren't worth it to me. Even with a lot of pressure, they always seem "flat".

So, I looked everywhere, and it seems like these tires aren't as easy to come by as the used to be a few years ago, even my tire guy still couldn't get them. I looked and looked and finally I stumbled onto this site and ordered 2 NEXEN 165/80/15. I'm honestly relieved I didn't have to buy those ugly ass Nankangs. Here is the link for others looking for help.. Free Shipping.

Front Tires

Tire buyer was going to be my suggestion. Man they've gone up in the last three months. I got two Kumhos for $44 each right before Christmas. I think I got free or discounted shipping from some online special they had. Another good one is Onlinetires.com, tireseasy.com, and buycheaptiresonline.com.

I had absolutely no luck finding them locally here in West GA. Cheapest I could find them was at my local Goodyear and they wanted $74 a piece! The only other option I had was at the Summit here in GA., but I would have had to go with the BFG's. I like them, but they were $89 a piece.
