What's equivalent to the 165R15?

I need a radial front runner for the street and heard they stopped making the 165R15. What's the next best thing?

they still make them but they went up and you have to search them by 165/80/15

the bfg is a 25" tire.

the 165s doubled in price a few years ago. used to be able to get em for less than $40.

Even at 25 inches or so, it looks the same. I took off 165's and found the 165's only a hair taller.

That is the size I went with also. It hate it when the skinny's are as tall as the rear tires.

I have/had a pair of 165r15's on the front and one blew a belt so I ordered another 165r15 but the geniuses at NTB got me a 165 80 r15 instead. Will they be different sizes or can I mount the new tire with no problem?

Well, "165R15" doesn't tell you the aspect ratio (what percentage of the width the tire is tall), so there's no way to say for sure without measuring. It may be the exact same mold, just they corrected the labeling.
