anyone find a way to bypass the anti theft system
Well I found out my anti theft system is active I only have one key. I have tried the battery drain and reset option and that was about it. The light flashes when the car is turned over. The check engine light is never present even with the car in the on position is this because of the anti theft system. Id really like to find a way to bypass it like cut the power wire since I have put around 3k in the car over the winter and I still need a few more things for the procharger.
thanks andy |

Well if they have then hopefully they won't post it here where the bad guys can also learn how to steal our cars. Contact your dealer for assistance. Somethings are better kept secret.

First, if the car has PATS, you need to have 2 keys.
If you only have one you need another. They cost about 35 bucks each. Second, you need to bring it to a dealer to have the PATS reset with 2 keys on their NGS. I do not know of any other way around it. Make sure you tell your insurance company that you diabled the Passive Anti-Theft System so they can raise your rates, and not cover your car when it's stolen. If it does get stolen, and the PATS is disabled, they CAN AND WILL refuse to cover the loss. |

You can always get a chip to disable the PATS when you get the car tuned. Get the ignition wire and put a switch on it and hide the switch. Thats what Ive got on mine. Good luck.

Is this a 97 Cobra? If so you only need 1 key to operate the pats system. Is it posable the pats chip is missing from the key? You can program a new pats key yourself in 45 min. If you want more info pm me and I can help you.
Later. Dave

Maybe I am missing something because its late, but you said you have one key right? So if you have a key, it should start your car? If it wont start and the theft light is flashing, then maybe there is something wrong with your PATS module. You only need two keys if you want to program an additional key depending on your model year. I remember my 99 GT I only needed one key to add a 2nd key. With my 01 and 03, I need two previously programmed keys to add another (3rd) key. I did this for my valet key I have on my 03. I wasn't going to pay the dealer 60 bucks that took me 1 minute to do!
