98 Cobra with 100 shot VS 00 Camaro with cam + Bolt on's

OK-- My brother has a 00 SS camaro with every bolt on + headers and weiland intake. He is getting a custom ground cam that will put him at 420 RWHP and about the same TQ. My mods are in my sig. I figure I will probably take him because my car is lighter and the NOS (100 shot) will put my torque at >420. Any comments?

With your mods, it's going to be close I would say...What does your car run at the track without the spray? knock about .7-8 off that time and that'll be your sprayed time with a 100 shot...cammed/bolt-on LS1's can be in the 11's pretty easy so it'll be really close...

I have a friend with a 96 mystic spraying 150 and lost to a very similar equipped WS6 by about 2-3 car lengths.

The Camaro will probably prevail.

OK--nuff said. I'll have to go with a 150 shot. Do these SN95 cobra bottom ends hold up to 150 wet shots? I am having a diablo flip chip burner for it so everything will be right with the N20 tune. I wish the NX kit came with a 125 jet.

I'd say it will largely depend upon the driver more than anything especially if you are street racing or using radial tires.... With that power level and the gears it would be easy to destroy a set of stock radials or spin too much and create a huge holeshot for your competitor or yourself. I don't think that weight is always a disadvantage I kill 90% of the s-10 v-8 equipped trucks on the street with my much heavier lightning simply because my suspension is tuned well and I'm heavy and hook excellent. With radials I get 1.7-1.8 short times which I think is good. Believe it or not it is a supercharged truck that it is extremely difficult to get it to spin the tires for more than 4-7 feet.

it definetly depends on the driver but IMO you'll get him aslong as you keep it lower then 125mph.

With a 150 shot you better have a bigger fuel pump in your car...you'll need more gas up there or KABOOM!

The bottom end will not take it to long.
My 96 with a 150 shot. 4.30 gear and a slick went 11.86 back a few years.
