I have a trick flow top end kit on my 1989 GT and have been sick of getting smoked by near stock coyotes. I am looking to install the Vortech V3 SCi. Currently my car has great drivability untuned with 24lbs injectors and pro flow MAF. My question is if I recalibrate the fmu for 24 lbs injectors do you think it will be legit for awhile until I can get new injectors, MAF, and tune? Has anyone had experience with this kit using the FMU on a H/C/I mustang? The other thing im a little concerned about is I have my ac/smog removed is this going to cause me grief with moving the alternator location?
Way back when I first bought my first blower I ran an FMU, 24# injectors and pro-m MAF. It was a Novi 1220, same exact blower as an SCi.
Truthfully, it ran just fine. Not optimally tuned for power and drivability but it worked surprisingly well. Your HCI car is probably ~300 rwhp, that's why Coyotes are killing you. Figure closer to ~450 rwhp with an SCi at 8lbs or so boost. That should put you ahead of them no problem.
I never ran AC with my blower. You'll need a 93 Cobra water pump pulley and a 94-up 3.8 Mustang power steering pulley to make it work properly. As far as a smog pump, just run an eliminator pulley and you're good.
I'd say go for it and get the blower. You won't regret it.

I'm rockin out an SCI, I say go for it too. I'm shooting for low 7, high 6s 1/8th mile in my 3600lb vert. It made 441 rwhp last yr. Combo in sig. Good blower for the $$ and self contained which i love!

I am pretty sure im going to do it bacardi and cola do it. I just hope it runs good at the track because I do not have immediate access to a close tuner.

Why does he need those pulleys?
Had a vortech v2 with 42lbers and a 255 for fuel. Lightning maf. Stock 5.0 tb to oil pan. Mid pipe and flows through the stock tails. Made 300rwhp and 350rwtq. Added a trick flow top end with some shorties and it made 430rwhp and 429rwtq at 5300 rpms. Had to get an msd box. Should make closer to 500rwhp past 6000. Car has a/c, power steering, no smog pump, and that stock clutch fan. You need to buy a smog pump delete kit or just toss the smog pump in unplugged. I think you need it as a spacer for one of the mounting brackets.
