I'm contemplating deleting my wipers, motor, everything on the notch. The car wont be a DD but it will be driven to and from the track (autocross) and the occasional Stang meet.
I'm going to run a cowl induction setup inside the cowl itself. The air filter will be in the area where the passenger side arm is. The inner wiper rod mechanics need to be removed form the passenger side, thus leaving the driver side inoperative also. Who runs no wipers with something like Rain-X? Comments?? Oh yeah, I'm in Florida.

well, from my experience with rain-x and other methods ie. wax, its a never ending battle of reapplying. It works but whether it rains or not you must reapply every couple of days which sucks because it is just one more thing to do. But since your stang isn't a daily driver then it might be alright.
I assume you wouldn't be driving to to many car show in the rain anyways on the flip side though. |

no wipers here. i dont drive in the rain so i deleted them to clean up the look of the car. i used some black caps to cover where the arm attaches.

No wipers here as well. This is my DD--I use wax, it's cheaper and I can get it off fairly easy if I need to. Currently I don't have any fancy cover ups for where the wiper arm comes up through the cowl panel, but when I paint the car I am going to have the 2 holes filled and the cowl smooth all the way across.

I made a bracket for my wiper motor to hide it under the cowl on the firewall so I still have functioning wipers. We drive it alot so I didn't want to be without wipers.

I run 1 wiper but I never use it. I applied rain x and that stuff seems like it doesn't want to come off. I cleaned the car 4 or 5 times and windexed off my window to clean it 2 times and the rain x was still there. This was all over a 3 month period. I have the 1 wiper if I get stuck in traffic because rain x doesn't work to well when your completely stopped.

Rain-X isnt posed to come off it fades away, i heard it can deteriate your hoses for your wiper fluid. Oh an its like a wax, if you wax your car and you wash it or use detailing does the wax come off probally not; its window wax i guess you could cal it

Thanks, I suspected Home Depot or Lowe's. Just thought you had some more specifics. I'll take a look too.

I got the UPR wiper delete kit, only a couple bullit looking caps to go over the wiper posts. It's not a DD but I have been caught in the rain early one morning on the way to a show and had to pull over and wait it out a bit. Only time I've ever had any issue. Other than that, it is a must to have wipers for DMV inspection purposes. I just got a really cool inspection guy and I just throw on the wipers when I take it to the station. They don't have to work they just have to be there. If you don't have a state inspection then you should have no worries. Just check the weather forecast before you head out!

Im going to tear all that out of mine and thats where im going to put my solinoids. I live in MN and I get stuck in rain all the time, I will use wax but ive been without wipers before and the fox seems to have a nice slope so without wax it still flew off nicely.

A few of us went to FFW in Gainesville years ago and my buddy forgot the wipers to his notch, he drove it all the way there (few hundred miles) caught in a bad rain storm, all he had was rain x and he was fine for the most part. The bald Nitto road race tires were another problem altogether though lol

That was it! Thanks! You have to remove the rubber dust cover to get to the nut. I have looked at it many time but never thought about removing the boot. Simple to remove with large socket. thanks again.
