No inter cooler Muffinman. But it doesn't need one. I could make more power with one for the same psi level if it had one. But we are going to be at the limits of the block as is. And the inlet temp won't be high enough to really cause any problems. And the carb does a little intercooling itself when the air passes thru it.

are you strengthening the block at all? I just read an article of 675hp or something on a 5.0 with Nos, they used a piece to strengthen the valley of the block under the intake manifold. because you can crack the block straight down the center when 500hp+ is in the equation
![]() what boost, cam, compression, etc are you running? or planning on? I have a friend with a s/c 5.0 in his '65 at just about he 650hp mark...

Ok good to know just saying it greatens the life of the turbo (but i'm sure you knew that) Also if you throw a shelby scoop on there then it will hit it directly helping the cooling process.

He's got a girdle, so it should hold things together if it goes. He knows the problems he can have. So we'll see what happens. It's already got the CR of a boosted motor. But he does have a blower cam in it though. We are looking at about 9psi. Should make about 450rwhp, maybe a little lower because the wrong cam. But it's still going to do stupid amounts of torque.

This probably a stupid ass question, but it is killing me to ask, how exactly is the exhaust setup? Maybe it is just the pictures, but it looks like it goes straight down?? Just wondering. BTW the car looks great!

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know much about turbos but the ones I have seen look as if the headers have been put on backwards, the collectors were pointing more to the front.

The headers do go straight down more or less. Most of the guys have/want all the accessories and sway bar. With the P/S pump sticking out farther than the shock tower, don't really have a choice but to run them down. Car with bigger engine bays like Fox's, you can do pretty much whatever you want. Hell, you can even stand in the engine bay while you make the headers.
![]() I've got the crossover done, just need to paint and take pics. It doesn't show in the pics, but the headers do eventually meet and then go to the turbo. |

Wont the exhaust drag running under the sway bar like that, it seems like thats going to be really low, like if u hit a speed bump or something. Maybe its not that low it just looks really low under the sway bar like that, but idk.

Oh she's done. It's the same as the last pic but with an aluminum bonnet. He's got the motor out right now because we found out the hard way the machine shop made a mistake. They made the motor 10.4-1 instead of 9.0-1

He just put this up. just got it running this pas weekend.http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...ain_153473.htm
He should be coming down very soon for a dyno tune. He wants 500rwhp which will be pretty easy, but not sure how long the rest of the parts would last.

sweet setup! what type of radiator ru using? iam running a 408w in my 65 coupe and it struggles to stay cool in traffic with a 3000cfm fan and a northern aluminum radiator. I figure i need one that is wider like you have? is that out of an SN95 or something?

He has a Taurus fan on it. He struggles a little to stay cool also. But he had those problem before the turbo though. It's a Northern also. But I made it into a double pass radiator. It goes in and out the same side, but passes the face of the core twice.

So...When will that be turned into a kit for sale. If and when let me know. Can that mount to any type of carb? I ask because the paxton procharger kit has the carb enclosure and require mechanical secondaries.

If your willing to put in the effort, you can replace the 65-66 core support (radiator support) with one from a 67-68- they have the same arch and will weld in. (Bigger radiator!)
