well they're both cheap, made in china junk! If you want to buy new heads, and then spend a bunch of money at the machine shop to make them right, go ahead!

Do a search, this has been beat to death on here.

procomp , patriot it's a crap shoot, you could get some that are better then others.....thats the issue, foreign inconsitences. but either way they don't compare to reputable brands.

i believe the heads need to be worked, as in ported and most of the time need to be miled to be flat

No there not made in usa, assembled in usa thats a different story. What type of valves, locks, retainers, springs, seals would you think come in a set of 600 dollar chinese heads? How about the valve job? There is a reason why TFS, AFR, Dart, Edelbrock are double and triple the price.

Did you flow them or compare advertised numbers? Why don't you run them on a 600hp capable DSS level 20 block and see how that works out for you.

OP, You get what you pay for. Quality heads are more expensive because you are paying for better quality ootb.

Please, no one post the link to that worthless "Down Low" magazine article.

That's probably the worst out there.

I picked up a set once just to see how bad they were. Took $450 at the machine shop to make them right. Deck surface was not flat, valve seats were hacked, a couple of the valve guides were binding. Also, the casting flashing and shape was TERRIBLE. So I took them apart and busted out the grinder. When I was done all ports looked respectable and were matched to the intake and exhaust pieces. They ended up on an 87 Fox and made decent power numbers, but basically cost the same amount as some AFR heads and took twice the work.

there's a reason why they are soo cheap... just like cheap fiberglass hoods. Sure you save on the initial purchase but in the end you put more money/time/work into them then you would have if you just forked out the cash at the beginning for reputable parts

If you decide to buy some, I would get them bare and have a qualified local machine shop perform the assembly on them with good parts.

Pro comps are garbage and Patriot's are a good head made in sweat home Alabama and imo are a good buy,way better than a pro comp not even comparable in quality.

They are the best head ever made. I run them on my 427W.

One of the above statements is true.

I like that tagline but Freedom and Revolution are 2 things that do not exist in China. Why would Patriot advertise US made bronze valve guides but not say anything about the casting?

Chinese casting, foundry casting especially is garbage. I work with aluminum every day and can spot a chinese foundry part from a mile away. Stay the fuuck away from that shiit.

Chinese stuff is so cheap because the labor is almost free. You think chinese foundry workers make same wage as Americans? Machinists? PLEASE. Chinese are lucky to make $10 a MONTH. Americans make $10 every half-HOUR, or better.

You pay what you get for. Would you prefer to send your money to fellow Americans, or to the Communist Chinese, who are NOT our friends?

They're almost as cheap as the SEARCH FUNCTION, but far less valuable.

Ran the 210cc procomps on my 414c.i. Got a max of 350rwhp. Removed them and replaced with AFR 205 and dropped it back on the Dyno - 400+rwhp before adding some more mods . You get the point.

I snagged a set of No name aluminum heads from the back of a 5.0 Magazine with rockers and the roller spring upgrade. They sucked me in on the cheap price but I paid 1200 With a set of scorpion rockers. They were 185's and 58 cc heads.

These heads were no joke. Put them on a 302 witha N61 with stock internals and it would wup my other 347 Systemaxed car and it had less gear.....

Thats the funny thing about the internet, one guy hears it then spreads the word but never bought a set....I actually bought a set....There are some crappy castings but mine were good. I think the name of the company was Taschedy or something like that I bought them from. GL

Car has 3 years of strip and street abuse and is still going yet.
