Smile Finally a decent video of an 8 second car driving around

Here is a much better video with good sound. It is a little long, but gives you a better feel for how the car is to drive around.

Edit **added in the streetfire version.

Man you have WAY to much self control. I would be doing 60mph rolling burnouts, and treating green lights like a christmas tree.

It is kind of near Capitol. I think part of it would be considered Gambrills.

It is on straight pump gas so I really did not want to get too crazy with it. It does have meth injection on it, but the system is basically untested right now.

I have had fast cars for a long time so I think it is a little easier to at least be a little responsible with it on the street.

I agree to an extent. I'd be looking for back roads just to stomp it.

The one road where I gave it some throttle is insane. Pretty much a straight line with an incline at the end before it curves off to the stop sign. Nothing on either side for the most part except fields and some farm land.

Not that I would ever do such a thing and hypothetically speaking, of course, it makes for a great test road

To each their own, but I NEVER get sick of videos of cars doing rolling burnouts at 40mph+

I've stock up 3 sets of 10 holes, so once my 450-500rwhp setup is tuned, I'll be out practicing.

Yeah, not a bad area for riding. I take my R1 back through that area and the area surrounding Gov. Bridge road a lot.

Just curious as to what type of insurance policy you have on it? I'm sure with a regular policy you would get totally screwed as far as value if you got into a serious front end collision.

Awesome video dude...I'm pretty sure we all aspire to have such a ride, with the best of all qualities. Now we just need a vid of some punk in a Civic comin up and revving at you....that would be HILARIOUS.

No, I'm thinking that watching him take out a Supra on the interstate would be the best.

Maybe this summer I'll get someone to do a video from another car. I know on the highway I can leave two huge black tire streaks at 70 mph.

Nah, it works it is that he doesn't need more than 3 or 4k rpm to scare the poop out of a normal human. When he gets on it at just over 1/4 throttle you can see it jump up to about 5500 or so in a millisecond! *L*

Novi, that is sick. I love the car, and besides the cage and gauges it looks just like any black mustang interior.

It works. It is a dual range model where basically 0-5000 or so is set up pretty narrow and then at 5000 and up, the numbers are really spread out. Just to give you an idea, I think the highest the rpm I hit in the video was around 5800 rpm. I shift the car at between 7500-7800.

Thanks. It is also pretty funny to look at the speedometer when I fed it some throttle to see how fast it jumped. It is pretty easy to merge on the highway with the car

I would not mind getting rid of some of the gauges. They are all kind of important though. I would probably have to get a racepak dash or something in order to do it. I wish it was possible to use one of those aeroforce all in one scan gauges with the dfi.

Thanks. It is 100% a drag race suspension. Drives really nice on straight roads, almost like a cadillac, but you don't want to take turns fast with it. I think the big front tires make it a little easier to take a turn quicker than your average drag suspension car, but there is still a lot of body roll.

That is probably about right on the old combination. Not sure what it is going to do with the geardrive on it.

True. I thought this comment was pretty funny from a guy who works for Kurgan in response to the video being posted.

Quote:
With a gear driven F2???? Back to reality please....i dont think there is anybody on earth that should need a Gear driven F2 to have 8sec street car...prolly cuz he didnt know what the fawk he is doing....sounds like he got he combo info from M.Post....

Besides we have plenty of 8sec street cars..on stock ECU...and definately without a F2...let alone a gear drive
I say PROVE IT. Show me all of these 8 second stock ecu street cars driving around that run the number on a 17 inch drag radial and weigh 3700 lbs. Anyway, I haven't even run the car at the track with the geardrive, my times were with a belt.

He said some other funny stuff, but to me that was the most entertaining.

I know Kurgan is on this site too. Maybe he can chime in on it.

Start playing!

Personally, if you won the lotto, you could have a shop build you a much better car. When it comes down to it, I am not a professional mechanic or a shop. I basically built the thing in my garage with pretty basic tools. A dremel, cutoff wheel, unibit, and wire crimpers are my favorites. If I could weld, I might be really dangerous.

You should come to Chicago some time. There are a lot of 8 second street cars around here. Not all of them gutted tin cans either. Pretty bad when your in your 9 second street car and you get whacked from a stop light or a roll. Pretty cool area to be in for stuff like that.

As far as stock ECU cars running 8 there are a few of them Bob tunes. One real nice stock ECU car completed late last year was a 03 Cobra vert with small twins. The car runs and drives great. Went low 9's in initial testing last year. That car is as heavy as yours if not heavier and would win at car shows. He runs on slicks but I know it would hook on DR's if he tried.

Like I said, there are a lot of crazy cars out this way. TT LT1/LS1, TT Mustangs, Sprayed cars, etc. Lots to see up this way at cruise nights and the track. Not bashing on you but out this way there is a lot of serious metal.
