I'm going to keep my eyes on this thread because I am highly considering selling my S-trim and getting that kit. I already have a intercooler though. Would probably go with the same turbo as you. And the price is definitely right on that kit.

Granted there a lot of pro-B&G guys over there (which IMHO speaks worlds to their customer service), it’s not an issue with most. The problem most people have is in regards to cheap imported junk. They are VERY opinionated on this…and many for good reason (quite a few have been burned in the past). In the end, they are looking out for the little guy that may not know better. The thing is, it’s not necessarily one persons “word” you are listening to (or should be). It’s one of the reasons the “turbo kit feedback” sub-forum was created. In the end, there is not one single turbo kit manufacturer that you cannot find ATLEAST one negative thread on. What one person considers a minor inconvenience, hardly worth mentioning… another considers a MAJOR roadblock.

Yeah, some are a bit defensive....but in their defense, many people throw up negative comments (not just with B&G) without even contacting the manufacturer. Often times people attempt to make adjustments/corrections and complain without even contacting customer service.....and quite often there are simple answers.

Customer service is what it is, partially because not everyone get's everything right 100% all the time (I'm not just talking about the manufacturers here either).

My apologies for the digression.

lol... see thats not right.

I will say though, when I was considering Chad's kit he was very friendly and offered a lot of information on the kit, sent pictures, etc. Seems like a very cool guy. If it does hold up like he says it will after a year or two, its a heck of a deal. Im looking to go turbo NOW though and don't want to wait a year to find out from someone else. That, and the fitment issues are a little too much IMHO.

Jon, Chad pissed off Brian at B&G, so Brian got a hold of Chad's manufacturer and is selling the On3 kit at near cost. Several hundreds cheaper than On3.

Actually, I believe he’s doing it for one purpose only….to put ON3 under. It’s my understanding that he will be making virtually no money on those….and will discontinue as soon as he’s done with his mission. Believe it or not, those el-cheapo kit’s are a real threat to many domestic companies…..and have been in some shape or form responsible for putting several companies under.

While B&G’s base kit’s do run a Chinese cooler and Brazilian turbo….both are upgradeable to domestically produced products. The kit itself is entirely fabricated right here in the US (with materials made in the U.S.). His process supports a hell of a lot more American workers than those who simply outsource every last process and component…..all to undercut the competition.

I see lots of people talking about how out sourceed to china. Why can't a American make the same product at the same price?? The money would stay here correct? I see people talking about places like hp use they money to sponsor and advertise. i dont want help be a sponsor. I want my car to go fast that why I buy a product. If you think about what is needed. The pipe kit can be made at a exaust shop on the cheap by a american. Turbo can be sourced from a american company so can the intercooler. A american just have to do it. Business is competitive. If it was me I would make the same kit mass produce and make 500 a kit and be happy. If it was made by a american company they would sell twice as much. Some places just have this get rich thing in their heads. We can make 2 grand a kit!! Lets sell them. Not all places that charge lots of money are great. A certain place in houston proved that. Reason why I think all this is, look at when someone does a diy kit. He get pats on the back and a job well done. Not a you used a intercooler made in china!!!! your killing the economy and my kids are gonna starve for it. Im not saying I'd rather buy china in saying lets see a american step to the plate and fab up their kits.
