1982 notch drag car
This car is built for NMCA Mean Street and is 100% legal for the class.
The car was completely disassembled and rebuilt using a rotisserie. The uni-body was taken down to bare metal on both the top and bottom. Some of the components used for construction are as follows: STRUCTURAL -2X3 full length "through the floor" subframe connectors that tie into torque boxes -S&W cage (needs two bars and window net to certify) INTERIOR -black interior with new ACC carpet -new black headliner -poly race seats with black covers -Autometer Phantom oil pressure, water temp, volt and trans temp guages -Autometer Phantom playback tach SUSPENSION -AJE moly k-member -AJE moly control arms with rod ends -Strange 10 way adjustable front struts -Strange front coil over kit -Baseline Suspensions rear UCA's -UPR LCA's -UPR anti-roll bar *extras: UPR UCA's, AJE 2" drop spindle and strut assemblies, Granetelli "weight jacker" LCA's BRAKES -Aerospace front and rear -Aerospace manual conversion -Hurst line loc --3 braided lines to calipers FUEL SYSTEM -Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump -Aeromotive regulator -Aeromotive fuel filter -five gallon fuel cell --10 braided line from cell to regulator, -8 return braided line, -6 braided lines from regulator to carb COOLING -Griffin aluminum radiator -Meziere electric water pump -16" electric fan -trans cooler with dedicated electric fan --16 braided upper radiator hose, -20 lower braided radiator hose *extra: Aerospace electric water pump TRANSMISSION -rollerized C4 -Dynamic "Pro-Tree" transbrake -Dynamic billet aluminum drums -Ultimate Converter Concepts 8" converter -JW flexplate -PA bell housing -CSI trans shield -FRPP aluminum driveshaft *extras: PA transbrake, Dynamic 2.20 first gear, billet forward drum, Ford C5 transmission REAR END -Ford 8.8 narrowed 1/2" on each side -Moser spool -Moser 31 spline axles -Moser c-clip eliminators -Ford SVO girdle -Motive Gear 4.56 "AX" series ring & pinion *extra: Motive Gear 4.88 "AX" series ring & pinion ENGINE -364 cubic inch 8.2" deck -Dart Iron Eagle block (4 bolt mains on all five) -Ross custom pistons -Total Seal rings -Groden custom aluminum connecting rods -King "Pro Series" bearings -Scat custom forged crank internally balanced -Canton aluminum "Pro" oil pan -Brodix ST50 heads prepared by Flowtech Induction -Ferrea hollow stem valves -PAC beehive springs -Jomar stud girdle -Comp Cams custom cam by Flowtech Induction -Comp Cams solid flat lifters with EDM oiling -Smith Brothers pushrods -Comp Cams 1.7 stainless rockers -Edelbrock Victor Jr intake prepared by Flowtech Induction -Pro Systems class legal carb -ARP 7/16 head studs and main studs -Cometic gaskets *engine made 587 horsepower on a Stuska engine dyno MISC -Weld 15x3.5 Draglites with Hoosier "front runners" -Weld 15x9 Draglites with BFG 275/60/15 drag radials (9 passes on new tires) -the car has run 10.45 @ 128 with very little tuning at 3330 lbs -the car was built to be as light as possible within the rules and required 495lbs of ballast with 250lb driver to meet minimum required weight I am sure there are a few details here and there I may have forgot. I added some pics in the Fox body galleries...
How to get them to this thread I have absolutely no idea... If you search in the galleries for "1982 NMCA Mean Street notch" the pics should come up.
