Wild Ride tonight.....

Took the car to Angleton for a few shakedown passes before NMRA next weekend. First pass had me scratching my head. Figure the suspension was stiff after sitting for 3 months.

1st pass
1.43 60ft
6.36@108.93

2nd Pass raised Transbrake to 5400

1.39 60ft
6.29@109.41

3rd pass only change went to left lane.
1.49 60ft
8.1@44mph

Car carried the wheels for 80 to 100ft and when it set down it was about a foot from the gaurd rail and out of the groove. It sucks not knowing where your at until the car sits down. It unloaded the rear tires and hit the rev limiter at 8900rpms. Scared the #### outta me.

4th pass...Tightened the front struts 2 clicks
1.39 60ft
6.27@109.8

Car was skating at the top end and decided to put it on the trailer. So car is ready for next weekend. Jan I plan on putting a set of bars on it. Only makes sense to do it since I dont race a class they are not allowed in.

vid or it didn't happen...

I don't know how those guys ride out the 80'-100' wheelies and make it look like it's as normal as breathing... but I sure like seeing it!

Well this is the 2nd time it happened. Unfortunately the video camera was dead but here are pictures and the video from the first time it happened last year. The track I was on last night was a little narrower.

Have you tried stiffening up the front struts a bit to try to control some of that travel?

Or perhaps a set of travel limiters?

Put 2 clicks in the front end on the last pass. It seemed to settle it down. I left after that. The car got lose at the top end from the dew.

Looking to fix that. Looking at a set of bars right now. Looking at some Wolfe 48 inch they are 30% off. Probably call em on monday.

I'm sure our cars are very different but I use to 60ft. 1.40 as well. I never got a front tire off the ground! This was on drag radials though. I did use a 12-150lb. spring in front as Dave hinted to. Maybe Dave knows something.

Not really knowing anything about your car just watching the video I'd say a 12/130-150 would help!

I will look into it more after this weekend. I should be making an early exit tommorrow in Hot Street. I did manage to qualify 4th......Until they ran the 2nd round of qualifying and the other 2 cars got clean runs and ended up 6th.

That is what was in the car I just switched over to this last spring. I was going to pull my 14"'s out of the other car and put those in it, that's what everyone recommended but I didn't. I am running 1.31-1.32 60' a 1.32 on the rears once, so they seem to work good.

Dave, what's it going to take for a 1.20????

Dave

Will probably be calling you soon for those springs and a new set of rear shocks. Car is definately having issues settling down. Also having issues at the topend now, but I think it has to do with a cold track. I ended up crossing the centerline last night.
