The car runs good that the thjng. It's running the best it has in a while. I had the supercharger belt off and it ran basicly the same. So I'm not sure where
to go because it running good right now but not sure about the pinging I have not ran it out yet. So right now I'm trying to find another dyno shop and fixing the things that need to be done and checking everthing out.

well after the tuner "fixed it" where it can rev to an amazing 4500 what were the dyno numbers? and if you say 275hp the car is obviously not running right. just listent o everyone else. pull the chip out, set the base timing at 8* or maybe 10* and go from there.. also do check your plugs.. .platinums are horrid...

i still think i would try running it locked out at 18

you need hardened pushrods, if you dont get them, the stock pushrods will wear out on the guide plates, itll put metal debri through your motor and eventually break some guideplates and pushrods

at this point id do a compression check and verify your running on all 8 cylinders

So it runs the same whether the blower belt is on or off? And you haven't looked into this further?

^^^it will have a restriction pulling air through a turbine that is not spinning. the right approach would be to relocate the maf at the front of the discharge tube but even then it will run poorly with a blower tune, you'd have to yank the chip, and even then, if the maf is cal'd for a blower, it will still probably run like crap

your car should make the same nmbers or more to the rear wheels without the blower on it. there is something wrong, please, pull the chip and set the timing as everyone has stated, start there.

CAMSHAFT IS OUT TIMING. i HAVE SEEN CAMS SO FAR OFF, THE WORST ONE WAS 9 DEGREES RETARTED... THAT WOULD CAUSE PINGING FOR SURE. AND LOSS OF POWER

Not even sure why I am responding to this, the answer or at least an excellent starting point was noted dozens of times.

Problem #1 - 15* of base timing and a chip = too much timing
Problem #2 - Pushrods - You absolutely need hardened ones with stud rockers
Problem #3 - An person who asks for advice, gets good advice and does nothing with it.

the funniest part of this whole thread is where you ask us for help, then tell us your car is running at its best... WTF?

If my edit is correct, a bov? on a novi 1000 at 6-7lbs. Dude, you are in way over your head. I would park the car until you have enough money saved to have a real performance shop look at the car. You are going to have a catastrophic failure that is going to cost you a motor. LUK

So you mean autolite 23's or 3923's?

23's are the plugs you use for a stock head. 3923's are what you need for your AFR's. If you have 23's in the motor your plugs won't even protrude into combustion chamber and the car will run like crap.

And for the 16th time.

Set the timing at 8* initial and pull the chip out

I doubt this highly , I bet with one email I can get Wes in this thread and to call you if you post your cell up ill get him to call you and your tuner

Who is your tuner by the way ?

OH and you DO NEED HARDENED PUSHRODS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and 3923 autolites , NOT 23s , I have had 2 guys bring me cars to tune in the last 4 months that were running autolight 25s in cars with trickflow heads , does nobody read instructions anymore ?

Those plugs you are running are wrong and could cost you 50 horsepower or more. That is why I check the plugs on every car I tune, regardless of the car owner tells me...

Based on similar basket-case cars that have come in to my shop lately I bet there is WAY MORE than just 1 problem keeping the car from making power.

If the ignition wires/coil/plugs/cap/rotor are bad the tuner has no hope of tuning the car right until the mechanical/electrical issues are fixed first. Its not even fair to say theat the car "only makes XXX horspower" if he can't even do a full pull to 6000 rpm.

You need to pull the car out of the shop and start over with everything right first before you try to tune it -OR- pay the shop re-do everything to get it right before putting it back on the dyno.

This thread brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye... Ahh the memories.

Did i miss something or are you not running a fmu with those injectors?

No fmu plus that combo equals blown head gasket... and that is the BEST case scenario.

Depending on how far he lives from the track he may still be walking home.
