Hi, Ken "BadShoe" Collins here. as you guys my know, I produce "How To Videos" related to Ford drivetrains. My question I'm putting out there is there any interest in learning how to build your own drag race powerglide....Ken.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I also plan on doing a FMX and top loader later next year. The great response has been similar on some other sites I put the question on. My old drag race buddy has been after me for a couple of years about doing a PG. I kept telling him it doesn't fit my Ford theme but he reminds me that Chevy guys are buying my 9" and the jeep guys get my 8.8". Add to that, most of the high power-to-weight Fords around here are running powerglide, especially those racing 1/8 mile. In my C4, C6 and AOD videos and PDF files, I show stock buildups with tips on upgrades for HiPo use. With this PG project, it will be a race only buildup. Frankly, building a racing C4 is pretty much like a stock buildup with addition of some aftermarket hard parts. Input shaft and welded forward drum comes to mind. Fact is the C4 can be built to handle high HP, no question but it can get pricey. From what I've seen, if you have lots of power in a light weight (say 3K or less) race only car you just don't need a 3 speed, 1/8 mile especially. I have to agree with my buddy that with many full tilt application, the PG's simplicity, light weight, small size, aftermarket support does make it a good option so I believe I'll take this project on....Ken.
